Swim Team



All children are welcome to participate in the North Palm Beach Swim Club program.   The only restriction is that a child must be 5 years old and/or able to take instructions for the full training period.

In order to conduct a program the size of  NPBSC it is necessary to organize our swimmers into different groups.  Our groups are based around the athletes age and skill level.  The goal of each group is to slowly progressive the athlete thru the different level of the program.  Presently, there are six groups that train year round and eight groups in the summers.
 

 

  Green Team (Trains Year Round)

 

Designed for beginning swimmers with no previous competitive swimming.  The emphasis of this group is to learn the fundamentals of the freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly.  This groups meet Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday for 30 minutes. 
 
Ages: 4 - 8
Practice Times: During the school year- 4:00 to 4:30pm     During the summer break- 4:30 to 5:00pm
Practice Days:  Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday

  Orange Team (Trains June 7th - August 14th)

Designed also for the beginning swimmer that is more advanced than the Green Team. The emphasis of this group is to continue to work on the four strokes and the fundamentals that go with them. This group trains for 45 minutes a day, four times a week.  Beginning August 17th Orange Team Members wishing to continue swimming during the school year will be training with the White Team from 4:30 to 5:30 pm

Ages: 5 & Up
Practice Times:  During the summer break- 5:00 to 5:45pm
Practice Days:   Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday

  White Team (Trains Year Round)

The first of the developmental groups, members of this team must have some competitive swimming or training.  Swimmers in this group should be ready to take on a greater challenge as they continue to work on stroke fundamentals and begin basic conditioning.  This group trains 1 hour a day, four times a week.

Ages: 6 - 10
Practice Times:  During the school year 4:30 to 5:30pm     During the summer break 5:00 to 6:00pm
Practice Days:   Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday

  Red Team (Trains Year Round)  Team Criteria

Age group swimming concentrating on stroke technique and conditioning.  This is the first of the year round teams and swimmers who join this team must be prepared to commit to a year round training schedule. This groups trains for 1.5 hours a day, five to six times a week.

Ages: 7 - 10
Practice Times:  During the school year- 5:00 to 6:30pm - Friday 4:30 to 6:00pm - Saturday 8:30 to 10:00am
    During the summer break- 8:30 to 10:00am     Saturday- 8:30 to 10:00am
Practice Days:   Monday through Saturday

  Blue Team (Trains Year Round)  Team Criteria

A more challenging practice that continues stroke technique and increases the amount of conditioning through a longer practice which incorporates more interval training.  Swimmers on this team have a dedication to competitive swimming and a desire to excel in their sport. This group trains for 1.5 hours a day, six times a week.

Ages:  11- 12
Practice Times:  During the school year- 5:30 to 7:00pm    During the summer break- 8:30 to 10:00am    Saturday- 8:30 to 10:00am
Practice Days:   Monday through Saturday

Gold Team (Trains Year Round) Team Criteria  

The gold team objective is to prepare and teach young swimmer proper training habits.  The Groups main focus point is on technique, practice commitment and aerobic development.  Swimmers in this group have proven to have a desire to excel in swimming and one day reach the Senior Team. This group trains 2.5 hours a day, six times a week.
 
 
Ages: 13-14
Practice Times:  During the school year- 5:30 to 7:30pm & 5:00 to 6:30am   During the summer break- 7:00 to 9:30am & 6:00 to 7:30pm
Practice Days:   Monday through Saturday (Doubles on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday)

Senior Team (Trains Year Round) Team Criteria
The senior team is the most advanced of the age group programs with the most demanding training schedule.  This team concentrates on advanced conditioning and fine tuning each swimmers stroke technique.  The goal of the team is to provide the best training opportunity for each swimmer to achieve his/her own goals.  The level of dedication required from each swimmer is increased on this team and the number and length of practice sessions is also increased.  This group trains 2 to 3 hours a day 8 to 9 times a week.
 
Ages 13  - College
Practice Times:  During the school year- 4:30 to 7:00pm & 5:00 to 6:30am   During the summber break- 7:00 to 10:00am & 6:00 to 7:30pm  
Practice Days:   Monday through Saturday (Double on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday)

  High School Team  (Trains Year Round)

This team is created for the High School swimmer who wants to stay in shape and swim year round.  This group does not have any practice requirements.  Practices will consist of technique, sprinting and aerobic training.  This group meets Monday thru Thursday.  Friday and Saturday practices are optional.

Age:  13 & Over
Practice Time:  During the school year- 5:30 to 7:00pm    During the summer break- 8:30 to 10:00am
Practice Days:  Monday through Friday
